Self-guided tour of the newly-opened Museum of the American Revolution, 101 S. 3rd Street, at Chestnut, followed by a conversation with Dr. Philip Mead, M*AR Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Historian. Enter Museum at 12 noon; talk begins at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $17; registration is limited and reservations are required.

Historian led tour of famous sites with darker twists! Get off the beaten path with information on medical and burial practices, brothels, and more. Includes Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, founders' homes, and the market and slave sale district among other sites. SHEAR’s 39th annual conference opens with the President’s Plenary, “Sexing it Up: the Transformative Impact of Gender on Narratives of the Early American Republic.” Thursday, July 20th beginning at 6:00 pm on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

Boydston Women’s Breakfast. The women of SHEAR will gather for their ninth annual breakfast honoring the life and career of long-time SHEAR member and supporter Jeanne Boydston. The President’s Address is free and open to all conference participants.
